Shivaji Maharaj (1630–1680) was a great Maratha warrior and founder of the Maratha Empire in western India. He was born into a noble family in the hill fort of Shivneri in present-day Maharashtra, India. Shivaji is widely regarded as one of the greatest warriors in Indian history and is often referred to as the "father of the Indian Navy."

Shivaji Maharaj is best known for his military campaigns against the Mughal Empire, which was the dominant power in India at the time. He successfully defeated several Mughal armies and established a strong Maratha presence in western India. He also implemented many administrative and military reforms, including the establishment of a sophisticated intelligence network and a powerful navy.


Shivaji Maharaj was a staunch Hindu who was deeply committed to his faith. He worked tirelessly to promote Hindu culture and traditions and is still celebrated today as a hero by many Hindus in India. He was also known for his strong sense of justice and fair play and was respected by both his friends and enemies for his integrity.
